Cabbagetown Youth Centre (CYC) has undergone a significant transformation and revitalization under the leadership of BGC Toronto Kiwanis. This has not only preserved the legacy of CYC, but also enhanced its ability to serve local youth by offering a broader range of programs and services, continuing the work that CYC started back in 1972.
The partnership between BGC Toronto Kiwanis and CYC is based on shared values, including providing positive alternatives for youth through sport, recreation, education, and skill development. Though there’s been financial challenges, the commitment to continuing to provide quality programming is strong.
The success and sustainability of the programs depend on community contributions. In a Memorandum of Understanding that preceded the merger it was agreed that BGC Toronto Kiwanis would continue to provide the programming and level of service to CYC participants at 2 Lancaster subject to provision of funds. But it’s not enough. We need your support to build our impact. And with your help, we know we can do more. our new opportunity BGC Toronto Kiwanis is grateful to the agencies and partners that provide ongoing financial support to sustain the Club’s core programs.
Cabbagetown Youth Centre is excited to be sharing our space with some amazing organizations who support our community youth.
