In 2020, after facing ongoing funding challenges the Cabbagetown Youth Center (CYC) decided to merge with BGC Toronto Kiwanis.
The merger was a natural fit as both organizations have similar missions and provide similar services while serving neighbouring communities.
With the addition of the Cabbagaetown Youth Centre & Boxing Club the BGC Toronto Kiwanis will now have 6 locations!
This journey starts with you. To achieve our ambitious goal, we will need to call on leaders in the community to advise us, to support the campaign financially and to motivate others to participate.
Since 1921, BGC Toronto Kiwanis has been an advocate for children and youth in our community. BGC Toronto Kiwanis has helped more that 100,000+ children and youth to develop the skills they need to succeed.
We believe a healthy snack is vital to the success of our members.
We believe in investing in the future of young people.
We believe that education creates opportunities.
We know that when we engage with children and youth, we make a big impact in their lives.
In May 2021, the Toronto Kiwanis Boys and Girls Clubs officially became BGC Toronto Kiwanis. Removing gender from our name modernizes our Club and echoes the inclusive practices we’re known for without straying too far from our history.
